MTA introduces the e-ID through the contest attracting more Takaful agents to improve agency professionalism and enhance the industry digital transformation journey.
Kuala Lumpur, 25 August 2023 – The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) proactively improving the Takaful Agents professionalism. As the associations are no longer required to issue authorisation cards of registration for Takaful agents, MTA embarked a digital identification or e-ID which to supports the Takaful industry’s digital transformation journey.
In supporting the initiative, MTA took this opportunity by organising Kemas Kini & Menang Contest which attracts Takaful agents to join the contest which has started on 3rd March 2023 until 31st May 2023 via MTA’s social media platform. The contest aims on the involvement of the agents to update their details and upload recent photo to the agent database called Online Takaful Agency Registration System (OTARS) system. Chief Executive Officer of MTA, Encik Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said,“The objective of acknowledgement of e-ID through the contest attracting more Takaful agents to improve the agency professionalism, enhance digital transformation journey which can helps to improve the user experience and engagement also to support Anti-Scam campaign nationwide.”
He added that, “The implementation of electronic identification can enhance fraud prevention where fraudulent activities can pose significant challenges to the Takaful industry, leading to financial losses and undermining trust.”
By implementing robust electronic identification measures, Takaful operators can significantly reduce the risk of identity fraud and protect the interests of genuine certificate holders. MTA acknowledges the significance of electronic identification in shaping the future of Takaful services. By integrating digital identification into the Takaful operators, MTA aim to provide customers with a seamless and secure journey, from enrollment to claims settlement. In supporting the campaign, MTA today awards the winner with the Grand Prize Apple Watch 8 Series to Mohd Syahmi Zulkifli and also to other 15 winners who winning the contest.
