Kuala Lumpur, 23 November 2023 – The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) is organising the Climate Resilience Conference 2023 (CRC 23), with the themed “Climate Crunch: Navigating Risks and Opportunities in the Takaful & Insurance Sector,” today at Asia School of Business. The conference aims to bring together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to explore the requirements for Climate Risk Management and Scenario Analysis (CRMSA) and to enhance the resilience of financial institutions against climate-related risks. The conference, an important initiative by the MTA serves as a platform to provide the Takaful and insurance professionals with the necessary knowledge and readiness for the CRMSA Policy Documents. The MTA remains steadfast in its dedication to advancing initiatives that not only mitigate risks but also harness opportunities for sustainable growth in the financial landscape.
According to Chief Executive Officer of MTA, Mr Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said, “The Climate Resilience Conference 2023 serve as a platform for MTA to showcase its commitment to fostering sustainability within the industry. The event’s agenda is designed to facilitate discussions, exchange insights, and collaborate on strategies crucial for navigating the complex landscape of climate risks and opportunities.
With a comprehensive agenda that encompasses diverse perspectives and expertise, the CRC 23 has a full plan that includes lots of different ideas and experts. It is set to be a really important event for promoting ways to deal with climate issues in the Takaful and insurance industry. As people talk and share ideas, MTA hope to get good tips and work together to make the industry ready for the changes in the climate risk. In addition, MTA has organised the Masterclass in the evening session, with the topic “Mastering CRMSA Reporting: Unlocking Insights for Success”. The masterclass main objective is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to excel in CRMSA reporting.
Prior to CRC 23, MTA has also organized a series of four webinars from June to October 2023 covering topics such as CRMSA Governance, Risks Appetite, Risks Management, Scenario Analysis, and Disclosure. The webinar series has attracted more than 3000 participants online. Recognizing an increasing demand for something more significant, which led us to this conference and master class as a closure for this year.
