MTA aims of enhancing public awareness regarding the concept and benefits of takaful, alongside promoting financial literacy seeking for increasing the penetration rate this year
Kuala Lumpur, 9 May 2023 – The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) today launched the Takaful4All initiative that specifically with the aim of enhancing public awareness regarding the concept and benefits of takaful, alongside promoting financial literacy, through a series of activities including, roadshows, contests, engagements as well as a series of media activities across multiple platforms, namely the mainstream, digital and social media. The ceremony was held in Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) is discovered as an all-encompassing and inclusive campaign for stakeholders including Takaful ecosystem players and their customers.
MTA Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said, “The idea of this initiative started with the campaign on the unfortunate flood happened in Johor this year. The Malaysian Takaful industry has, no doubt, achieved remarkable growth in recent years. However, there is still room for improvement to maintain this growth trajectory. One crucial area in which we need to focus our collective efforts on enhancing public awareness regarding the concept and benefits of Takaful, alongside promoting financial literacy such as Takaful In Campus, Takaful Masuk Kampung, Takaful Hi-5 and many more. Collaborating with the government, takaful and retakaful operators, and industry associations can facilitate educating the public on the significance of Takaful and its role in financial planning.”
“In line with this, we will be launching the Takaful4All campaign specifically with the aim of enhancing awareness and visibility of takaful through a series of activities including, roadshows, contests, engagements as well as a series of media activities across multiple platforms, namely the mainstream, digital and social media. Again, we seek the support and collaboration from the media on this campaign that hopes to promote financial literacy in support of efforts to support the government’s vision of creating a more diversified and inclusive financial system,” he added.
One of the highlight of the launching is the unveiled of MTA’s new website to strengthen the association’s digital presence and increase engagement while recognising the importance of providing easy access to information and resources for its members, customers, and the public. MTA believes that the new website will be functioning as a hub from insightful articles to interactive tools, from news and events to online resources, which also aimed to be a valuable resource for all those who are interested in the Takaful industry and the work of the Malaysian Takaful Association.
The Launch Ceremony of Takaful4All was attended by representatives from Bank Negara Malaysia, academicians from universities, associations, representatives of member companies from respective associations and media representatives who participated in the event.
